In 1976 the Netherlands – Sri Lanka (Ceylon) Foundation was incorporated in The Hague with the objective:
to promote good relations between the Netherlands and Sri Lanka in general and to promote cultural affairs and development cooperation in particular.
In 2018 the scope of the objectives is widened and updated to promote the social, cultural, economic, technological and academic relations and linkages between the Netherlands and Sri Lanka.
These objectives will be achieved by:
- Providing information and contributing towards the awareness of the social, cultural and heritage linkages through projects and programmes.
- To encourage economic ties and technology exchange.
- Organize activities such as exhibitions, meet-ups, debates, symposia, publications, etc.
- Cooperate with public and private parties to mobilize resources that would contribute towards achieving the objectives.
